- ⚠️ GI distress (cramping, diarrhoea — very common initially)
- ⚠️ Hypoglycaemia risk with diabetes medications
- CYP3A4 inhibitor — many drug interactions
- Constipation at lower doses
- ⚠️ Avoid in pregnancy (uterotonic)

Berberine HCl
Berberine hydrochloride — standard form. AMPK activator, blood glucose lowering, cholesterol reduction. Often called 'natural Metformin' though mechanism differs.
